Total Rejuvenation Combo – Achieve the Best of Both
The goal of any facial rejuvenation treatment is to make the fibroblasts in the skin produce more collagen. Collagen ultimately provides scaffolding & support for your skin. You can optimize your results by combining our facial rejuvenation services.
The most dramatic results can last anywhere from 18 months to 3 years. These services repair & restore, but time & gravity are inevitable. For best results, repeat the full course of treatment after outcomes fade, or do periodic maintenance treatments.
Unlike cosmetic surgery, no one will ever tell you you’ve had too much acupuncture.
Benefits of Acupuncture for Skin Care – More Than Just a Healthy Glow
Benefits of Acupuncture for Skin Care – More Than Just a Healthy Glow
- Stress Management
Stress wreaks havoc on your skin. Cortisol is the main hormone that elevates in times of stress. While cortisol is necessary for the body in small doses, the elevated levels that come with ongoing stress are not healthy. Cortisol also triggers the skin’s sebaceous glands to produce more sebum (oil) and leads to more opportunity for clogged pores. During a stress response, nutrition delivery to skin cells is compromised, which means the skin will look lackluster & will not be able to grow new cells as efficiently. Elevated stress hormones also prevent the body’s ability to manage inflammation and perform deep healing, as these processes get suspended by the body in favor of immediate survival needs.
- Microbiome Health
Your skin actually has its own microbiome – a vast ecosystem of bacteria that exists on the surface of your skin. The good bacteria act as helpers to your own immune system, protecting your skin and body. The microbiome of your gut also plays a crucial role in just about every facet of your complexion. A healthy gut microbiome means better nutrient absorption and less inflammation throughout the body. Imbalanced gut microbiomes can cause immune system malfunction and can significantly contribute to acne, eczema, psoriasis and rosacea. In cases of leaky gut, bacteria from the intestines have even been shown to make their way into the skin through the bloodstream.
- Hormonal Health
Hormones have a profound effect on the skin and health as you age. Optimal levels of estrogen, testosterone and thyroid hormones are all necessary for healthy skin. A decline in estrogen levels, for instance, causes skin to become dry, less elastic and more fragile. Testosterone, on the other hand, stimulates the sebum-producing glands. This is important for protecting skin with natural oils, but overproduction can lead to acne. Thyroid hormones can also have an impact on the skin. An overactive thyroid can cause warm, sweaty and flushed skin, while an underactive thyroid can lead to dry, coarse skin with a reduced ability to perspire.
When your immune functions become weakened or impaired, your skin can be more vulnerable to inflammation, hypersensitivity & other common skin conditions. The immune system is connected & integrated with every other body system, making it vital to preserve its proper functioning. When your immune system is functioning well, it can help fight off overpopulations of pathogenic bacteria that are often present in eczema & acne. You can protect & fortify your immunity by eating nutrient dense foods, knowing & avoiding your allergens, getting plenty of quality sleep and staying hydrated. Gentle exercise & shaking or vibrating the body can stimulate lymph flow, replenishing immune system fluids & removing toxins that burden cells.
- Anti-Aging +
In addition to bolstering all four of these systems, Acupuncture for skincare helps you achieve an outwardly healthy glow for proven anti-aging benefits – without harsh chemicals or side effects.
APSTEM – Green Apple Stem Cells. These are from rare Uttwiler Spätlauber apples from Switzerland known to have extraordinary longevity. They have been shown to boost human stem cell production up to 80%, protect the skin from environmental stressors and reduce the visible signs of aging such as sagging, wrinkles, and dull, uneven skin texture.
Well researched, green apple stem cells have been shown to: protect vitality and longevity of human skin stem cells, help skin cells build new tissues, increase skin density, increase the vitality of skin stem cells, combat chronological aging, increase the regenerative potential of the skin and improve both wrinkles and skin firmness in the eye contour area.

Q & A / Patient Forms section
Cosmetic Acupuncture sets itself apart from traditional aesthetic services by addressing the underlying causes of skin issues (eg. hormone imbalances). By addressing the underlying cause of skin issues we can effectively slow down the aging process from within. Not only do we address specific areas of concern, but also the overall health of the skin. Beyond the beauty benefits of creating firmer and softer skin, we can address jowl lines, deep wrinkles associated with muscles, help heal acne and reduce associated scarring, pore size and much more. Acupuncture aids in delivering improved nutrition to the skin by improving digestion and absorption of nutrients. Other services simply cannot and do not address the underlying issues associated with skin health like sleep quality, stress hormones, anxiety and depression…this list goes on. Acupuncture improves circulation, nerve signaling & lymphatic drainage, induces collagen production, changes cell turn-over rates, improves elastin and releases muscle tension associated with wrinkles. Acupuncture affects the brain to change biological processes associated with improved skin and overall health.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is both esthetic and anti-aging. It relaxes the muscles of the face and boosts collagen to reduce wrinkles. It also increases circulation and boosts elastin to naturally firm and tone the face, leaving a more natural look than fillers and Botox injections. Cosmetic Acupuncture promotes detoxification to leave you with a clearer and more even complexion.
While each individual will respond differently, the effects of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, are cumulate. Patients generally have a course of treatment completed 1-2 times per week for up to 5 weeks. Most Acupuncturists find that in order to obtain real results, the process takes approximately 10 treatments. People begin to notice results somewhere between the 4th and 7th treatments. Maintenance may be needed by the individual based on factors such as age, type of skin, overall health, any history of sun damage, diet, exercise habits, etc. We may choose to do maintenance on a monthly frequency or just four times per year, depending on individual needs and responsiveness. With proper maintenance, Acupuncture can last 3-5 years. Treatments usually take 60 minutes to complete. You may be given the option to retain small dermal needles imbedded in wrinkles, for a more robust result.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been using Acupuncture needling as cosmetic treatment, for thousands of years. Acupuncture has addressed sagging skin (laxity), fine lines, wrinkles and other aging signs. Needling is very effective at stimulating and correcting collagen production. With modern technology, micro needles are so small that they can be grouped together in a medical pen device. The newest pens are fully adjustable in speed and depth to address a myriad of skin conditions. We utilize sterile, single use heads and our medical pen device is nearly double the speed of other manufacturers. This allows for a comfortable treatment, nearly pain free. The micro needling pen helps to increase the surface absorption and utilization of nutrients by 3000%, from topical serums that can be applied to the skin during and after a treatment. This considerably speeds up the natural production of collagen. Micro needling is the most advanced form of Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT). Micro needling also utilizes the body’s own built in repair process by speeding up cell turn-over rates. As we age, cell replacement on our face slows down. This is a process of natural aging and oxidative damage associated with sun exposure, diet, etc. What sets our services apart from others is the addition of medical grade serums such as apple stem cells (APSTEM), Collagen XG, Lumos, Occulus, Senescence 65+, Elastin FLT and Rejuv Xue Cao. Apple stem cell serum is the base of the treatment and other serums can be added for an additional $19 per serum. Unused serums are sent home with you to be applied as part of follow up care. Medical grade serums are very difficult to purchase in stores or online, that have the strength and purity to produce noticeable effects. We suggest using the products available in our clinic to achieve an optimum outcome.
Nano needling utilizes a different type of needle head that doesn’t penetrate as deeply, yet due to the pyramidal shape of the needles, it promotes many of the same benefits of micro needling. Nano needling is utilized with unique skin types and around sensitive areas like the eyes & lips. We are trained in both micro and nano needling. Micro needling is considered a medical procedure and has restrictions on who can perform the procedure (eg. MDs, Nurse Practitioners). Micro needling is typically done monthly whereas nano-needling can be done weekly. Both are very good at improving the absorption of topically applied serums. Combining micro and nano needling allows us to get the very best results for your individualized needs. The comfort level afforded by this combination and the use of the most advanced medical pen on the market, will be appreciated by all.
You may begin to see results in approximately 6-8 weeks. Improvements in the skin and collagen production will continue over the next 12 months. With a series of treatments, the effects are cumulative.
After a micro needling treatment there will be some redness which will vary by individual. This can be slight pink or a deeper reddish tone similar to a sunburn, which can last a few hours or 2-3 days. Some people may experience some swelling or soreness, similar again to a sunburn or have an increased itching sensation that can last a few hours to a few days. The itching is a natural histamine reaction and may be intensified in individuals who suffer from allergies. To reduce any or all of these effects, we use a nutrient serum and cooling mask after the treatment. The skin will also tend to be drier (possibly with minor flaking) for up to a week since this process involves making very small channels in the skin, which normally holds in moisture. It is very important to keep the skin hydrated during this period of time, with the recommended protocols given by your practitioner.
